It Came And It Went...

I can't believe oh eight, oh eight, oh eight is gone!!! I feel like I've been talking about it for so many years, and now it's gone! I mean, it was great...and trust me, I was awake for about 20 hours of the day (ummm yeah), so I enjoyed it thoroughly. I just feel like that whole once in a lifetime moment disappeared. Neither Ellen or the NBC Today show wanted to tell the world about the day, but I guess it's because of the whole Beijing thing. Which by the way...what's up with these new long-pants swimsuits and WHERE can I get one???

So just to re-cap...I was home Thursday night and wanted to go out to see midnight on 08/08/08, but also really wanted to stay home. There was a huge party at one of my accounts but it's kinda hard to get to with public transportation. So I was happy when one chef said he was going to another bar. I met him there and it happened to be one of my accounts. So when the chef there was done he insisted on buying me drinks for my birthday. Yikes! It was a great night and I DID see it turn 08/08/08! And then I had a shot...

So, after a few hours of sleep, I got up to meet my friend Melissa for mani's and pedi's. Of course I was starving and usually have a chocolate cruller on my birthday...but that wasn't enough this year. So I had a chocolate cruller AND a sausage, egg, and cheese on an english muffin. Then we did some shopping...and then I came home to eat more and relax. I had a nice surprise coming home....there was a bouquet of chocolate covered strawberries waiting for me...another bouquet of flowers...and then Tim showed up at my door! He got me The French Laundry Cookbook! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited to make something out of that book! Tim is an extrodinary cook and I'm hoping this book will help me have dinner parties as good as Tim's!

So not long after that Julie got here and then everyone else. It was a rainy night but I have to say "Thank You" to everyone that came to celebrate. We had a good crowd here at my place (which I was so excited to show people.) And then Danielle, John, and Me headed out to a Tavern down the road. Some chefs met us out and we did NOT stop laughing. So I'll cut to the chase...here's some pics...
