I'll start by saying that I was going to update last night when I got back from New York...but there was a change of plans there. I left New York at 2:30pm and didn't get home until 10:04pm. You know I stopped at Chocopologie (www.chocopologie.com) in Norwalk on the way back. I wasn't there too long, but I didn't want to leave. I got all of my orders in and even did most of the stuff on my list to do this morning. Fritz was there so I chatted with him over a cookie (he had a nutella crepe, yumm) before I hit the road. I was making great time and was going to be home at 8:30. But once I got to Natick traffic STOPPED! Standstill. Apparently a trailer lost some steel beams yesterday, so it took me 1.5 hours to go 5 miles. It was awful. I tried to make the best of it...made friends with the guy in the car next to me, sang the same songs about 10 times over, and did learn something about traffic. It causes an inverse relationship between your gas tank and your bladder. Yeah, that large coffee Fritz gave me for the ride home was great at about 7:00, but come 9:30 it was an entirely different story.
So. Onto Sunday night! Paige and I got to Manchester just in time for the doors to open and let all of the young, leopard-skinned, Cheetah Girl wannabes in. We found our seats ummmm, all the way up front, in the 7th row. Called Kristin to tell her just how close we were. Then walked around to use the potty, grab a snack, a souvenir, and prepare for a rockin' Cheetah time. The opening act was 3, 14-year old girls called The Clique Girls. Paige didn't know them. So this was how one conversation went..
The Clique Girls: All you parents will know this song...it's called Heaven Is a Place On Earth.
Me: Oh My Gosh!!! Paige! I love this song...how exciting???? It used to be one of my favorites!!! I love it!
Paige: Can I have my Skittles?
Once they were done, we went to say hello to Paige's dance teacher and her daughters. But then we went back to our seats for the main act. When the Cheetah Girls came out it was just awesome! Paige was so excited...she screamed and clapped the whole time! She danced a little, but not too many girls were dancing. I think she was sort of in "awe" of the whole situation. We were pretty darned close too, so she was waving at them the whole time. It was so cute!

The highlight, you ask? Oh, right. That's when the Cheetah Girls started a song in the middle of the arena and then made their way towards us! Paige was sad she couldn't see them back there, but then they made their way right at us! After I hip-checked the other 8-year olds that stood in front of her, Paige got to touch Adrienne Cheetah. Talk about being in awe. I think I was more excited for her. It was very exciting and I think she got sick of hearing me say, "Paige! You touched a Cheetah Girl!!" Her response at one point..."I know Auntie, and her hair IS real." Check for yourself, this is the pic I got right before she grabbed Paige's hand!

It was a great night spent together. We wished Katie and Mommy could've joined us, but as Paige said, "the concert was louder than the vaccuum." So maybe the next time it'll work out.
For now, my new commercial...
Two tickets to the Cheetah Girls in the 7th row: $I'd rather not share
Souvenir Booklet: $20
Skittles: $3
Glorious sound from backseat on way home, "Auntie, tonight was probably one of the BEST night's of my life." - PRICELESS
As they sang in one of their songs, "there's no place like us."

Happy Happy Birthday to Grandma!!!! Hey, Dad can I have $10???
Chow!
KK :-)
