Short Ribs Strike Again!

I hate them. I hate them. And just for the record...I hate short ribs! This past Tuesday someone else ordered some boneless short ribs from me. I was a little hesitant to sell them, but I had to. So it was all set...good product, good price, so he took two cases. It was Thursday afternoon when my phone rang and it was the chef..."Hey Karen, those short ribs came in with bones." I think I said that word that starts with an "F" and rhymes with "cluck".

That's enough of short ribs talk, because I just can't do it. We have another shrimp promotion now. This one isn't a competition (thank goodness), we just get bonuses based on how much we sell. I'm actually doing pretty well, but there are two other sales reps kickin' my butt in this one. So we'll see how it goes??

So I have to wish my sister a very Happy Birthday! I'm a couple days late, but I didn't get the chance to update the blog the past few days because I was busy making her cake. It was so much fun to do! Here's a picture of the finished product...


So I got the idea to make this cake when Kristin and I were watching a movie and we both oohed and aahhed over a castle cake we saw. She said I should make it for Paige, but Kristin's birthday came first and she deserved a special cake. So I made all the cakey parts the night before her birthday. I'm sure she's curious, so here's what it entailed...6 sheeet cakes, 1 round cake, 2 small batches of cupcakes, and 3 batches of my frosting. Here's the naked cake in the works of being put together...



I brought it all to her house after she left for work and started to put it together. A huge thanks goes to Mark for keeping me posted on her whereabouts and for ummmm, going to the wrong restaurant for lunch! That bought me some extra time, and I definitely needed it! :-) Kristin, I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!!
