This is Dedicated to the Ladies...

Girls...and Women....

Actually it's not, but it's the first quote from the night at the Bangles that I decided to share with you. More from that night of my 6-year old dreams in a moment...

Things at the house are finally coming along! We've put just about everything away, as well as packed up more stuff that we know we just won't use yet, and we are settling in. The living room probably needed the most work and that's done. Mom and Dad delivered the love seat that matches my couch on Friday. Which meant we could have dinner at the Back Room! So everything matches our new tv - which forces me to watch more than I need to, but oh well.

Last weekend we ran a bunch of errands and used the long weekend to work around the yard. So our garden is planted, which was so much fun to get ready. And we extended part of our wooden fence, so that had to be stained too. In case you're wondering our garden has tomatoes, green beans, cucumbers, zucchini, yellow peppers, banana peppers, and jalapenos! Although 1 cucumber and 1 zucchini we planted already died. I asked the MF if we should bury them - insert chuckle here.

We rewarded ourselves for all our hard work with a great meal. We really enjoy cooking together, so here's a picture of our spread...

Yummm...lobster, salad, baked potatoes, and grilled corn on the cob (my take on Toro corn, with a greek twist!)

Last week Auntie came to visit with Amanda and Al before they headed back to school/work for the summer. We had dinner at Margaritas (thanks Auntie!) and then went to the FisherCats game.

We even saw John Smoltz

That brings me to Wednesday - THE BANGLES!!!!!

My big sis came with me to Boston for the show I've been waiting to see forever. Now, I won't tell a lie...I didn't know all the songs they played, but the 3 I really wanted to hear, I heard. And there's something about seeing the chicks I used to listen to over and over that made me really happy!

We kicked off the evening with dinner at the House of Blues restaurant. Then we headed over to the Bleacher Bar for a beer. Then we headed inside at 7 (because that's when the doors opened) not knowing that the show wouldn't start for another hour and a half. Here's the stage...

Then Juliana Hatfield opened the concert. She was ummmm....a bit redundant? The songs all sounded the same, and they had miserable messages. "You could have had drugs or me...and you chose druuuuggggssss." Well, we were about to try some to ease the pain. But we kept laughing and making jokes about the band. Like - "Playing the guitar is so easy, even a cave man can do it."

But they soon were relieved by the chick rockers themselves! See for yourself...

OOPSIE! That's me and Kristin. You know we rock - here's The Bangles!

Yeah, they don't look so bad do they? Although it was a later night than we anticipated - we had a great time! Maybe next time Pat Benatar will open up for them instead??

Okay, well that's all I have to say for now. Time to start another work week. Happy June!!!!!

Chow!
