I keep looking over our Hawaii pics and thinking about what we were doing last year at this time. Why not share?  One year ago today we were supposed to be going on our fishing trip at 4am, but the weather was too rough for landfolk like us.  So we rescheduled and headed towards Hana.  "The Road to Hana" is super popular on Maui and some people just don't do it because it's kind of scary.  Only scary in the sense that it's one lane in a lot of places and that one lane is a very, I repeat very, old bridge.  And there are lots of twists and turns so if you get car sick, I wouldn't recommend it at all.  To sum it all up...the road is something like 34 miles and we didn't go the whole way because it took about 5 or 6 hours just to go as far as we went.  Of course we stopped and did some secret hiking to try and find hidden waterfalls and pools.  One of them we got close to but the warnings about being shot by land owners scared us.

At any rate, here's the road.  See it in the cliffs on the other side of the water?

This was my view :-)

This was the first waterfall we found.  The directions to find it from the side of the road were hysterical.  I think we looked for a broken gate with barbed wire and had to crawl under that and then jump over some sort of dead bird....I'd say it was worth it!

So we spent a lot of this day in and out of the car.  We found the black sand beach and hung out there for a bit.  I remember burning my feet because the sand was soooo hot!  Because I didn't post anything yesterday, I'll put my favorite picture from Feb. 6th here now.  It's also one of my favorite photos from our entire trip.  This was at Wailea Beach...seriously, one of the most beautiful beaches in the world!  And the greatest man in the world, luv!

That's the update for now.  Here's one last pic of the rainbow we saw to start Feb. 7th 2012.

Totally missing this place....
